Instructions for using the Official Indiana "Who Are Your Legislators?" tool
Using the Internet: the Indiana "Who Are Your Legislators?" tool:
Step
1) Start by clicking on this link: the official Indiana "Who Are Your Legislators?" tool.
In the box depicted below, select "Indiana House" or "Indiana Senate"
from the pull down menu. Enter in your five digit zip code and click
the "Go" button. If at any point you or the tool get confused, start
from the beginning by clicking on the "Who Are Your Legislators?" link to
come back to the box depicted below.

Step
2) On the map page, you may have more than one
district/legislator listed on the right hand side for your zip code, if
so, click on the map at the location where you live. You may need to
zoom in using the zoom tool at the left of the page to see specific
street names. You can navigate the map by clicking on the circles
depicting the direction you would like to move the map in. If you
accidentally click on the wrong spot, you need to start again from the
beginning by returning to the "Who Are Your Legislators?" page.

note: in this map illustrated I-465 is misidentified as I-31.
Step
3) Once you click on the location where you live, a red
star will appear at the location you selected and your legislator's
name and district will become highlighted
blue at the right. Click on the name of this now
highlighted legislator.

Step
4) Click on the "email" link at the right of the
legislator table that appears. Alternately, and especially for State
Senators, clicking on the legislator's name will take you to their web
page where they may have a specific contact webform [labeled "E-mail
Sen. X" at the left on Senators' pages] for that legislator.

Step
5) Find your legislator from the list and click on the
"Email Your Legislator" button corresponding to your legislator. This
will take you to their contact webform.

Step
6) Edit the Sample
Letter we have provided and then copy the entire edited
letter [addresses and everything] and paste it into your legislator's
contact webform.
