Breaking News: Urgent Action Needed! An Indiana Tree Bill is needed.

Some feel an effort to cut short the up-coming legislative session by weeks is being considered.

The Indiana 116 General Assembly Session is currently scheduled to begin Jan 5th, 2010 around 1:30 p.m.

"Tree Bill" filing deadline is set for Dec 12-14th.

Organization Day, which establishes rules, committee chairmanship, etc., is set for 11/7/09.

The I.U.R.C (Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission) will hold their final evidentiary hearing January 5 & 6, 2010. The I.U.R.C.’s final ruling/decision could take 30 to 90 days after this hearing.

A huge-huge problem:
By the I.U.R.C. and the utilities dragging their feet during this statewide investigation with the final ruling still many weeks ahead, it provides those senators and state representatives who support the utilities over their own constituents an excuse to wait yet another year before even considering any kind of legislation.

Clearly, this is a very big problem for all of us. Effective changes, statewide, require legislation now.

PLEASE!!!
Email immediately your State Senator and your State Representative to demand legislative action during the 2010 session. Request they email or write to the I.U.R.C. chairman David Hardy requesting a final report be submitted by January 15th or sooner if at all possible. Vist our Write a Letter - Save a Tree page for our complete how-to guide and easy-bake instructions.

Remember, if action is delayed yet another year, millions of dollars in damages statewide may occur.
